Golf got especially roughed up. Commenters shared anecdotes about all-day rounds, blown dinner plans and partners feeling like the course had become the actual relationship. Those personal stories are unverified anecdotes, so we are not declaring golf legally responsible for divorce.

We are saying golf has been asked to remain available for questioning.

The real answer was less dramatic: obsession. There is a difference between “I play golf” and “our children recognize me mostly from my tee-time confirmation email.” There is a difference between “I game sometimes” and “our honeymoon has a raid schedule.” There is a difference between “I make content” and “please do not touch your fries yet, the lighting is wrong.”

Guinness World Records recognized the 78-year-old Scottish grandmother as the oldest female Fortnite streamer on Twitch. Bowie, known online as grumpygran1948, started playing after her grandson introduced her to Fortnite in 2017. She now has more than 24,000 Twitch followers.

There is something extremely satisfying about a grandson doubting whether anyone would watch Grandma play and Grandma responding with a nine-year content strategy.

Some of us have been “thinking about starting a channel” since 2022. Cath started one, kept going and ended up in Guinness.

Also, somewhere there is a teenager getting eliminated and staring at the screen like: “There is no way that was somebody’s grandma.”

Residents in Moriyama, Shiga Prefecture, Japan, began calling emergency services around 6:45 a.m. on September 23 to report what some initially thought was an ostrich running through the neighborhood.

It was actually an emu.

According to Kyodo-linked reporting carried by The Star, the young bird escaped from a nearby mobile zoo and was later captured on the grounds of an apartment complex. Other local reporting put the pursuit at about two hours. No injuries were reported.

Which means the emu got roughly two hours of freedom, a neighborhood tour and an entire police response before breakfast. Most of us hit snooze twice and consider that a productive morning.

We do not know what the emu was thinking, but our completely unofficial editorial translation is: “You can’t ground me. I don’t even fly.”
